Maryann Piendak

Maryann Piendak, 55 of New Britain entered into eternal rest after a long, courageous battle with cancer on Monday, September, 21, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Poland, she was the beloved daughter of Stanislaw and Weronika (Grzyb) Piendak. She came to New Britain in 1967 and was a member of Sacred Heart Church. She was a longtime employee of The Hartford Insurance Company and Mass Mutual. She enjoyed cooking, painting, creating beautiful flower arrangements and other crafts. Maryann also loved organizing and planning events and spending time with her family especially her nieces and nephew whom she loved dearly. Along with her parents, she leaves her three siblings, Jadwiga (Heidi) Karwowski and her husband Mieczyslaw (Mike) of Farmington, Slawomir Joseph Piendak and his wife Agnieszka of Bristol and Elizabeth Kucharski and her husband Mark of Burlington. She also leaves her eight nieces and nephew, Monique Collins and her husband Stephen and their two children, Mikayla and Nicholas, Ann Marie and Victoria Karwowski, Emily and Gabriella Piendak, Andrew, Ashley and Amanda Kucharski. Her family would like to extend their gratitude to Bel Air Manor and Masonicare Hospice and the staff of the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center for their loving care and compassion of their daughter and sister. Her funeral service will begin on Saturday, Sept. 26th, at 8:30 a.m. at Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, New Britain. She will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Burritt Hill.
