Maryanne MacLeod (Roseberry)
STERLING: Maryanne (Roseberry) MacLeod, 80, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023 at home, surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her two sons, Neil W. MacLeod and his spouse Yan Li of Sterling, and Robert R. MacLeod of Hardwick, Vermont; her companion of over 20 years, Philip Rainville; her siblings, Dora Capite-Tkal of Shrewsbury, Alphonse Roseberry of Berlin, Louise Janda of Berlin, Joseph Roseberry and his wife Ginny of Richmond, ME, Lucy Ayers of Berlin, and Paul Roseberry and his wife Sherry of Bowdoinham, ME; and a grandson, Ian M. MacLeod; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Bertina Thomas.
Maryanne was born in Boylston, daughter of the late Joseph L. and Julienne M. (Mercier) Roseberry. She graduated from Hudson High School, Class of 1960, and also graduated from Norwich University with a bachelor's degree in liberal arts. She attended Our Lady of the Rosary School in Clinton. She worked as a computer software trainer at Digital Equipment Corporation, retiring in 1983. Maryanne was very active in her community, including grant writing for the Town of Sterling, conducting archeological presentations for local historical associations, and doing educational programs for elementary schools throughout the area. She was an avid reader, enjoying nature and gardening.
Calling hours will be held from 5-7pm on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM on Saturday, January 28, 2023 in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton; with burial to follow in South Cemetery, Berlin.
