Maryjane Linn Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Maryjane Edwards Linn, 99, of Salisbury, MD, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025. Born on August 12, 1926, in Cumberland, MD, she was the daughter of the late Grace Rowe Edwards and Webster Koontz Edwards.
Maryjane was a proud graduate of Fort Hill High School in Cumberland and went on to further her education at Potomac State College, Frostburg State College, and Salisbury State University.
She dedicated much of her life to education, teaching at several local schools including East Salisbury, North Salisbury, Pinehurst, Beaver Run Elementary, Wicomico and Bennett Junior High, and Bennett High School. Beloved by her students, she retired from teaching in 1983. Following her teaching career, she worked alongside her husband, Jim, at Ahtes, Hanna, McLaughlin Real Estate and later with Cooper-Stewart, where she remained until her retirement in 2007.
A devoted member of Asbury United Methodist Church for more than 66 years, Maryjane actively participated in many church ministries, including her long-standing service at the Opportunity Shop. She was also a member of numerous organizations, among them the Maryland Retired Teachers Association, Wicomico Retired Teachers Association, Maryland Retired School Personnel Association, Junior Wicomico Women's Club (past member), Coastal Association of Realtors, Maryland State Realtors Association, National Association of Realtors, and the Elks Auxiliary.
Teaching was Maryjane's passion, and she cherished the relationships she built with her students. She hoped they, along with those she worked with in real estate, would remember her fondly.
She is survived by two daughters, Danna Abbott of Salisbury and Kerry Burger (Steve) of Warren, NJ; five grandchildren, Lex (Jennifer), Jenna (Corey), Stephanie (Brett), Katelin (Josh), and Laura (Kenny); and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James "Jim" Linn; her brother, Walter Edwards; and her son-in-law, L.A. Abbott.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1401 Camden Avenue, Salisbury, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: MAC, Inc. - 909 Progress Circle, Suite 100, Salisbury, MD 21804 Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Maryland Chapter - www.cff.org Asbury United Methodist Church - 1401 Camden Avenue, Salisbury, MD 21801
