Matilde Guerra Gonzalez

Matilde Guerra Gonzales, 80 years, of Holyoke, Ma., departed this life on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 15, 1942, at Rio Grande Puerto Rico where she resided most of her adult life. She went on to marry Hernesto Escalera and live 57 years of marriage. Out of this marriage, she had two daughters Luz & Noemi Escalera. They honor her with five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was able to work at the factory at Panty Matty in Puerto Rico as a seamstress and she loved her career.
Matilde was very dearly loved by her family and friends. During her life she belonged to the Church of God in Rio Grande Puerto Rico with her husband. After the passing of her husband in 2016, she joined her daughter and moved to Holyoke, Ma where she continued to congregate at the Apostolic Christian Church of Bethsaida with Pastor Samuel Mateo Sr.
Matilde was known to be gentle, friendly, helpful, loving and an awesome caretaker. She will demonstrate her love to others by taking the time to listen and hug you to show you how much you meant to her. Today we understand that she was a woman of faith and loved by God and this is why we know that she is by his side as promised in his word. One biblical verse that will describe her life here with us is Psalm 23:1The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
Matilde Gerra Gonzalez nació el 15 de Marzo del 1942 en Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. Padres, Marcolina Gonzalez y Guillermo Guerra. Matilde teniá once hermanos, de los cuáles sobreviven dos hermanas.
Matilde nació en Rio Grande y se crió en el barrio Malpica; se casó con él que fue su único amor, Ernesto Escalera Jiménez y tuvieron 57 años casados; ambos tuvieron dos hijas, Luz Ivetter Escalera y Noemí Escalera, 5 nietos y 9 bisnietos. Matilde fué excelente hija, excelente servicial, pulcra y con un corazzón repleto de humildad; una de sus mejores cualided era servir al necesitado sin esperar nada a cambio.
Sus abrazos tenián una "magia" que sanaba el alma, eran puros y estaban llenos de amor. Sus pasatiempos favoritos eran estar con su familia, cómo también lo era cocinar, coser y sembrar. Tus valores y enseñanzas viven en nosotros y te hacen especial. Pasaste por nuestras vida como una estrella fugaz, pero tú brillo vivirá siempre en nuestros corazones. Nos separó la muert, pero el amor nos mantiene unidos. Quererte fue fácil, pero olvidarte será imposible. Salmos 23:1 Jehová es mi pastor; nada me faltará. 2 En lugares de delicados pastos me hará descansar. Junto a aguas de reposo me pastoreará.
