Matthew Bryan Bachman, of Edmond, Oklahoma passed away unexpectedly on February 26, 2024. His family is profoundly saddened by this loss.
The youngest of three sons, Matt was born on August 2, 1974, to Angela and Mike Bachman, joining older brothers Andy and Kevin. He was predeceased by his father on April 20, 2009.
A devoted son, Matthew shared a very special bond with his mother. She was his best friend and he was of enormous support and help to her. Matt, Andy, and Kevin were very close-knit and loving brothers who enjoyed spending time together laughing, golfing, watching football, and, of course, drinking cold beer.
After graduating from Edmond Memorial High School in 1993, Matt attended Westminster College in Fulton Missouri, and the University of Oklahoma. Matt was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity.
Matt married Nancy Williamson on May 10, 2003, and they had two sons, Michael Lee Bachman and Christian Thomas Bachman. Although divorced, they remained focused on the care of their sons. He and his sons shared a very special bond. He cherished spending time with them imparting life’s lessons and sharing his love of the outdoors. Sadly, Matt was predeceased by his son Michael on December 23, 2020.
Having worked for Bachman Services from the time he was a teenager, Matt returned to school full time obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Safety from the University of Central Oklahoma in December 2020. His co-workers and peers held him in high regard for his expertise in work and safety practices.
A lifelong Sooner fan, Matt also enjoyed hunting, camping, skiing, and scuba diving and was a great cook. In his spare time, he could be found at the lake on his boat or in the mountains of Crested Butte. He loved being with family and his many friends including golf buddies, members of the Fat Guy Club, the crew at the Frosted Mug, and Christie Cooper.
Matt leaves behind his beloved mother Angela, his loving son Christian; his precious granddaughter Aurora Bachman along with her mother Lydia Keefer; his brother Andy, wife Tammy and nieces Alison and Emma Bachman; brother Kevin, wife Lisa and niece Kayla Ramirez, her husband Michael and their son James; his Uncle Ralph Fillmore, wife Lila and cousins Lindsay Gabrielson, her husband Tony and their daughters and Heather Neighbors, her husband Brad and their sons; Uncle Harold Smart and cousins Robin Germany, husband Brett and their sons; and Phillip Smart and his family as well as numerous other family and friends.
