Matthew Graham Lowe, 70, of New Providence, NJ, passed away peacefully on July 4th after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family. Matt was a profoundly dedicated husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and grandfather who truly lived and loved life to the fullest.

Born and raised in Chatham, New Jersey, Matt was the third of Mary and Reg Lowe's seven children. With Washington Avenue School in their backyard, Matt and his siblings grew up playing and excelling at many sports. While soccer and baseball were his initial passions, tennis and golf became his favorites later in life. Matt was a walk-on soccer player at Bucknell University, helping his team win the East Coast Conference Championship in 1974. He graduated in 1976 with a bachelor's degree in business. After college, he continued to play competitive soccer, softball, and tennis in various leagues around New Jersey. He was also deeply involved with the New Providence Soccer Club, coaching his four children and many other aspiring players.

In 1976, with the help of his father, Matt founded what is now MGL Printing Solutions. Starting in his parents' basement, the company steadily grew, with each of his younger brothers joining the business over the years. He was immensely proud of this successful local family business, which now operates out of New Providence, NJ.

For 43 years, Matt and his family vacationed every summer in Cape May, NJ, a tradition that continued when he and Ann purchased a home there nine years ago. Many cherished memories were made at the beach with friends and family. Among his favorite activities were enjoying crab cakes, Jamaican Steak at 410 Bank Street, C-View wings, happy hour on the beach, and rounds of golf.

Matt also had a great love for travel. He frequently enjoyed visiting California, Australia, and St. John, but a Safari trip in South Africa remained the highlight of his adventures.

He was preceded in death by his brother Jay, brother-in-law David, nephew Brett, and sister Meredith. Matt is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Ann, his four children (and their spouses), and five grandchildren: Jennifer and Ian with sons Colton, Keaton, and Bowen; Daniel and Robyn; Sarah and Brendan with daughters Mila and Halle; and Elliot and Ovgu.

He is also survived by his brothers, sisters-in-law, and brother-in-law: Greg and Laurie, Randy and Terri, Darren and Patty, Chris and Michelle, and Sue and Steve.

Additionally, he leaves behind his nieces and nephews: Alyson and Ronnie, Jonzi, Erik and Zandy, Jon and Caitlin, Michael, Tess, Kate, Kristina, Brendan and Matt, Ryan and Lauren, Tyler, Maureen, Abigail, Christopher, Christyn and Dustin, Alex and Amanda, and Guy. He is also survived by his great-nieces and nephews: Aiden, Brody, Hailey, Rylin, Miller, Nathan, and Miles. Matt's many, many friends meant the world to him and his family.

A memorial service celebrating Matt's life will be held on July 26th at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 200 Main Street, Chatham, NJ 07928. Guests are encouraged to wear something colorful. A reception will follow at their home in New Providence, where everyone will have an opportunity to share their own "Memories of Matt." In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Overlook Foundation or the Lustgarten Foundation.

Dear Anne and Family,
I'm thinking of you and praying for you as you grieve the loss of your dear husband and father. Matt was a wonderful person! I was privileged to be classmates with him in high school and college. Here are a few photos from our yearbook. Take care, and may you know God's comfort.

A few Chatham Eskies hoisted a special toast to Matt after a round of golf yesterday, at Woods Hole in Falmouth MA. Brian Koelbel '79, Dave Lane '80, and Mike Burton '80 all fondly recalled Matt, and his leadership on and off the soccer pitch. Called home too early....Rest In Peace.
