He was born on January 15, 1940, in Brooklyn, NY to the late Matthew and Delia (Duffy) McCabe. Matthew owned and operated McCabe's Pub in Long Island, New York for many years. He was a member of Amvets, the Knights of Columbus and Moose Lodge in Florida. Matthew was an avid Brooklyn Dodgers, New York Mets, and New York Jets fan. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Matthew was a veteran serving in the United States Army.
He is survived by his daughters, Theresa Crescimanno, Lillian Todino, Odette (Bill) Escoffier; his sons, Matthew (Sue) McCabe, Michael McCabe; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and his sisters, Joyce (Bob) Sanacora and Lillian (Bill) Johnson.
In addition to his parents, Matthew was preceded in death by his wife Odette McCabe; the man that raised him Walter Klee; his daughter Michelle McCabe; his granddaughter Sierra McCabe; and his sons-in-law Domonic Crescimanno and Tom Todino.
In keeping with Matthew's wishes, there will be no calling hours. The family will observe a private service at a later date.
