Matthew Derek Suit, age 53, (better known to his family and friends as Derek or Bub) went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 2, 2025, with friends and family by his side. Derek was born on November 29, 1971 in Little Rock, AR to Robert Max Suit and Doris June Suit.
Derek is preceded in death by his parents; he is survived by his wife, Christy Lynn Suit of Benton, AR, and his two sons Zachary Rien Suit and Joshua Clarence Suit, both of Benton, AR; his brother Rick Anderson (Teena Anderson) of Hot Springs, Jason McGrady (Pam McGrady) of Des Moines IA.; a sister, Gayla Golden of Hot Springs AR., and a host of extended family members and wonderful friends.
Derek was a person who loved with everything he had. Derek and Christy met in 1993 and later welcomed their first baby boy Zachary Rien Suit in 1997. It wasn't until May 2000 that they tied the knot down at his mom and dads house on the back porch (deer camp). In April of 2001, they welcomed their 2nd baby boy Joshua Clarence Suit, and they just celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary on May 27th.
Derek was a jack of all trades but his most recent work was what he had longed to do his whole life, he worked as Territory Sales Manager for Big Rock Sports. He was a member of Bassmaster and TBF. Derek started casting for kids. Derek's wife and boys were always willing to give him a run for his money in the deer woods!
Derek will definitely be missed, but he will be with us come deer season, no doubt!
