Matthew Wolcott, 58, died January 29, 2021, at his Dallas, TX home.

He was born February 20, 1962, in Shreveport, LA to John and Peggy Wolcott. He graduated from Jesuit High School. Matt became an exceptional golfer in his teens and spent summers at his family's vacation home in Destin, FL. He followed in his father's footsteps and pursued a career in the oil business. He lived in Destin for a period, but spent the majority of his life living in Dallas TX.

Matt loved people. He had a heart for generosity and a passion for helping people. He loved to talk about everything and many of his friends have expressed how he was like a brother to them. If you ever needed a friend, Matt was always there for you.

A late-in-life surprise happened for Matt eighteen months ago. On August 19, 2019, he discovered that he had a thirty-seven year old daughter, Kimberly. He was overjoyed the day she knocked on his door. When they met, he cried knowing in that moment when he saw her face, she was his daughter, saying that she was an answer to a prayer. Within a few hours of meeting Kimberly, he called many family and friends to tell them about his daughter. Everyone in the family is grateful that God gave Matt this miracle before he passed away.

He is survived by his mother, Peggy; his brothers, Fredrick Wolcott, and Mark Wolcott; his daughter, Kimberly; 2 grandsons; and 3 nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, John F. Wolcott, Sr.
