For many years, Mickey and Burt owned the renowned Fetlas Trading Post in Valparaiso. She also played a key role in the family real estate business, L&L Investors Group. Above all, Mickey cherished her roles as a devoted wife and mother.
Mickey was a lifelong member of Hadassah and a dedicated member of Temple Israel of Valparaiso. Mickey was proud of her community contributions, including bringing the Harlem Globetrotters to Valparaiso. She was deeply loved by her family, including her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Mickey is survived by her husband, Burton; her children, Steven (Diana) Langer, Michael (Kim) Langer, and Debbie (Steven) Gray; her sister, Helene (Ronnie) Lakin; and her sister-in-law, Corrine (the late Alvin) Spielman. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Robert (Jordyn) Langer, Sara Langer, Carly Langer, Alexandra Langer, Rachel (Zak) Mitchell, Corey (Sarah) Langer, Caroline Barounes, Isabella Barounes, Bill (Lindsay) Gray, Aaron (Rachel) Gray, and Scott (Zoey) Gray, along with 13 great-grandchildren: Mya, Hanna, Eva, Arielle, Aviv, Sam, Nella, Adam, Eli, Jack, Maya, Cohen, and Cru.
She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Rudy Langer, and sister-in-law, Gloria Langer.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 11:30 AM Central Standard Time at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso, officiated by Rabbi Shoshanna Feferman. A memorial service has already taken place in Florida, where Mickey and Burt enjoyed many winters together.
