Mr. McBryde Haddock, 84, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 27th, at 3:00 PM, in Hollywood Presbyterian Church, officiated by Pastor Keith Cobb. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:45 PM–2:45 PM. A private burial will be held in Pinewood Memorial Park.

Mr. Haddock, a native of Pitt County, was the son of Letha and Bertha Carrow Haddock. He was a graduate of Chicod High School and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He lived in Virginia Beach, VA for many years, where he was employed as a commercial construction superintendent. In 2003, he returned to Pitt County to make his home.

He was a member of Hollywood Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder. While in Virginia, he had been a member and served as a deacon for many years at Coleman Place Presbyterian Church in Norfolk, VA. He was a 32nd degree Mason, former member of Atlantic #2 Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Norfolk and current member of the Grimesland Masonic Lodge #475 A.F. & A.M. He was also a member of the Shrine, Scottish Rite, and the Eastern Star. He had been a member and Worthy Patron for Virginia #22 Order of the Eastern Star, Grifton #134 and, Greenville Chapter #149 until they closed, and then in Kinston Chapter #53.

He is survived by wife of 60 years, Katherine Sutton Haddock; son, Leonard Lavone Haddock and wife, Angela, of Ayden;

daughter, Katherine Sue Williams of Ayden; grandchildren, Matthew and girlfriend, Emma Grace, Daniel and girlfriend, Madalynn, Andrew Williams and fianceé, McKinzie, Anna and husband, Ben, C.J. Littleton and wife, Jennifer; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lois Ann Cannon of Ayden.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hollywood Presbyterian Church, 5103 NC Hwy 43 S., Greenville, NC 27858 or to Outlaw's Bridge Universalist Church, 4408 NC Hwy 111 North, Seven Springs, NC 28578.
