Megan Elizabeth (Flynn) Gibbons, age 42, of Temperance, Michigan, passed away July 24, 2024. She was born July 19, 1982, in Toledo, the eldest of three children, and raised in Temperance, Michigan. Megan graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 2000 and went on to earn her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Dayton in 2004. At the age of 13, Megan began her working career at a greenhouse across the street from her childhood home. Following, Megan worked at Lambertville True-Value. She began her professional career at Daymon Foods in Milwaukee, WI and then Pittsburgh, PA where she was Business Development Manager for 10 years. When Megan found out the wonderful news of being pregnant with twins, she joined the family business, Erie Steel Treating, in 2014, where she served as Office & HR Manager, Pat's personal secretary, and Brian's right hand. Even though Megan excelled in all phases, her greatest joy and blessing was being the mother of her three beautiful children.
Megan always enjoyed the beauty of nature, going for walks, bicycle and club-car rides with her kids, nieces, and nephews. Megan simply loved being outside. One of her truly happy places was Up-North in the summertime, where family walks on the beach, searching for Petoskey Stones, and enjoying Lake Michigan sunsets were regular activities. From setting up forts and obstacle courses with her kids, to attending all their school and sporting activities, to taking trips to Cedar Point, to getting slap-happy with anyone present, to never missing a dance when Sweet Home Alabama was playing, and so much more. Megan found her greatest joy in sharing time with her family and brightening the lives of all those around her. She was athletic and active, excelling at swimming and snow skiing in her childhood and tennis in both high school and college. More recently she enjoyed playing pickleball. She was an amazing mother, wife, daughter, sister and best friend, selflessly caring for the needs of others above her own. Her beauty, both inside and out, along with her radiant smile will be deeply missed by all.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of fifteen years, Tom Gibbons; beloved children, Jack, Sally and Henry; mom and dad, Nancy and Patrick Flynn; siblings, Shannon (Alex) Gray and Brian (Molly) Flynn; nieces and nephews, Rose, Marcella, Elizabeth, and Marty; and special great aunt who was like a grandmother, Nancy Naumann-Barcelona; Tom's parents, Tim and Chris Gibbons; brothers-in-law Dave (Maddie) Gibbons and Mark Gibbons; sister-in-law Kaitlyn (Mike) Syberg; nieces and nephews George, Will, Hays, and Ellie. Megan was preceded in death by grandparents, Allan and Sally Henry and Phil and Helen Flynn; step grandma, Joanna Henry; great grandma, Wilhelmina Naumann; and uncle, Mike Schira.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Megan's life on Saturday, August 17, 2024, in the Wurzel Family Center (in the middle school), 6516 Ravine Dr., Sylvania, on the campus of Saint Joseph Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. in the Wurzel Family Center, where the family will receive and visit with guests beginning at 10:00 a.m. Megan will be privately laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery, Toledo.
Contributions in her name, in lieu of flowers, are suggested to the Saint Joseph School Sylvania and Saint Jude's Children's Hospital.

Megan was kind, gentle and thoughtful to everyone and had the most beautiful warm smile. She was the best mom I´ve ever known, she loved her children more than anything and truly enjoyed playing with them, they were so blessed to have her.
I looked forward to spending time with Megan, she enriched my life and many others by just being herself. Great conversations and laughter. I hope heaven had a Budlight waiting for her when she arrived.
