Melvin Lopez Obituary
Services for Mr. Melvin Louis Lopez, 79, of Iota, will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum in Iota under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Visitation for Mr. Lopez will on Friday, August 25, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. and continue until the service time at 12:00 p.m.
Mr. Lopez was born on August 5, 1944, in Lafayette, LA to Louis Lopez and Lilly Pourceaux. He worked in the oil and gas industry as a pumper. He was a member of the Cajun Riders Club and thoroughly enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He was a hardworking family man who enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He is resting now with his four-legged friend, Buster.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Vicki; daughters, Shirley Rodriguez, Serena Wallin, Patience Bock, Henrietta Curtis, Elnora Sonnier, Krystal V. and Amber K., and Samantha; his sons, Cody K., Tellerson C.; sister, Ida Lopez; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Louis Lopez and Lilly Pourceaux.; daughters, Lucrecia Thornton, and Serena Sue; sons, Melvin Lopez, Jr. and Henry C.; and two brothers, Arcade Lopez and Leonard Lopez.
