Booth, Michael J.
Formerly of Gates, passed away in his home in Ocala, Florida on January 25, 2025, at age 68. Predeceased by his father and mother. Leon and Joyce Booth; mother-in-law, Marie Tandoi. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna (Saporito) Booth, children, Carrie (Jeff) Kruger, Derek (Melissa) Weezorak; grandchildren, Sara Haskins, Maranatha (Brent) Malloy, Madison Raforth (Nicholas Shorey), Michael Weezorak, Avery Weezorak; great grandchildren, Killian Malloy, Amelia Shorey; brother, Robert (Mary) Booth; sisters, Patty Carpenter, Barbara (Michael) Proseus; many nieces and nephews.
Michael's family asks that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way he lived it and for the profound impact he had on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Michael had an infectious smile and was always happy to see you. He showed a sincere kindness to his friends, always generous and lending a helping hand. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle. He valued his family, loved them dearly and enjoyed going places and doing things with them. Above all, Michael was a gentleman.
Mike grew up in Rochester, New York. As a child, Michael loved playing Little League baseball. At Bishop Kearney High School, as the team's pitcher, he was proud that he pitched his team to the Section V Class AA Championship. Later, he enjoyed coaching his son's hockey team.
He joined Eastman Kodak in Rochester, New York and worked there and with successor companies for 32 years in various capacities in equipment buying, sourcing planning, and scheduling for a multitude of parts and products. He was the Manufacturing Assembly Supervisor before he joined AccuMED Corporation, a LEAR company, in North Carolina in 2014 as Supply Chain Planning & Scheduling Manager/Purchasing Manager. He retired in 2018 and then moved to Ocala, Florida.
Michael enjoyed many activities and hobbies including fishing, golfing, bowling and most recently bocce ball when he moved to Florida. And he had a great passion for cooking, always creating his own recipes and making wonderful meals for family and friends.
Although Michael is gone, he will live in our hearts forever. We will miss his companionship, making new memories together, and most of all his love.
No prior calling. On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, all are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 11:00AM at Parish of the Holy Family Church, 4100 Lyell Rd. Inurnment, Riverside Cemetery. To the family of Michael Booth my deepest sympathies for your loss of a wonderful young man.I had the pleasure of both teaching and coaching Mike at BK and his competiveness on the field and in the classroom was outstanding. His Senior year his pitching led us to a sectional championship and will forget the joy of happiness we had with that team that year. May he rest in peace and I know he will still have that good fastball up in heaven-Coach Urzetta
