Mike was a devoted husband, caring brother, kind friend and loving father to his three biological children and two stepchildren, whom he loved and was incredibly proud of. He was a lively person who enjoyed every day. Although Mike and his wife Emily had only been married for a short time, Mike shared with her how to live life to the fullest. When he wasn't watching the Dallas Cowboys, his weekends were filled with outings with family and lifelong friends, canoe trips, fishing, and dancing in the rain. Mike never met a stranger, only a friend he hadn't met before; willing to give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He recently started working for the Illinois Department of Transportation working long hours to ensure our roads were clean and safe for driving. When he wasn't working at IDOT, he was likely DJ'ing or working behind the bar at Lee'z Place. Mike was a motorcycle enthusiast who loved taking his Harley-Davidson bikes (2001 Night Train & 2017 Street Glide) out for a spin on beautiful days. One of his favorite biking activities was spending the day biking with his "brothers".
Mike is survived by his wife Emily (Matei) Clemens, the father of Michael Jr, Elena, Mackenzie, Maddison and Cameron; his father Gregory (Vicki) Clemens; his mother Lisa (Ron) Ramey; sister Crystal (Dwayne) Butler, nieces Kelsey and Zoey; sister Heather (Andrew) Friebele, nephew Chase; brother Keith Clemens; grandparents Jan Sinclair, Barb Clemens, Carol Reuter.
Mike is preceded in death by his grandparents Gene Reiss, Shirley Harrington, Ed Clemens, William Slingerland.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm on Saturday, April 20th at The Healy Chapel, 370 Division Dr, Sugar Grove, IL 60554. In memory of Mike, the family requested you wear Harley-Davidson or Dallas Cowboys apparel.
In lieu of flowers, we are asking that you donate to the family during this difficult time.
