Michael Wayne Davis
July 7, 1959 – February 6, 2025
Michael Wayne Davis, 65, of Cantonment, Florida, passed away February 6, 2025, at his home in hospice care from cancer.
He was born in Pensacola, Florida on July 7, 1959, to the late Cedric Eugene Davis and the late Emma Jean Pickle Davis. He married Tammy Teresa Davis on March 11, 2011, at the top of the Pensacola Lighthouse. Beside him, through this journey was his beloved service dog, Maya. Michael was a lifelong Merchant Mariner. He worked as a Chief Marine Engineer at Bordelon Marine, Hornbeck Offshore Services, Swiber/New Cruz, and Kevin Gros Offshore. He had a passion for gardening, cooking, music, woodworking, crafts, and guns.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Joseph W. Davis and his sister Mary Singleton. He is survived by his son, Steven D. Davis; stepdaughter, Teresa C. Weakley; stepson, Walter M. (Loren) Weakley; granddaughters, Tegan A. Weakley, Lucy A. Weakly, and Ruby L. Weakley; sisters, Glorida (Jerry) Davis, Linda Ham, Deborah Davis, and Jennifer Stefani. Michael's support team included Mother-in-law, Lunita L. McCloskey; Sister-in-law, Misty (Tommy) Colvin; Brothers-in-law, Thomas "TJ" McCloskey, William "Billy" (Myrinda) McCloskey, and Marcus "Marc" McCloskey.
Survivors mentioned played a vital role in Michael's four-and-a-half-year cancer battle. He was most grateful to be surrounded by such a loving family and so many great friends. Thank you!
Memorial Service will be Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North, 1000 Highway 29 South, Cantonment, FL 32533. Visitation will begin at 2:00 followed by 3:00 memorial service. There will be food at his home following the service for anyone who would like to join.
