Doherty, Michael J. of Quincy, died on August 26, 2024.
Michael adored his family and loved making people laugh. He always had a story to share and made friends everywhere he went. He was a graduate of North Quincy High School, where he loved football. He worked for the City of Quincy for 10 years as an electrician and was a member of the Local 103 for over 30 years. He enjoyed going to the beach, trips to the Cape, and music, especially Bruce Springsteen. Michael was a social, personable, and kind man who always wanted people to feel welcome. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Devoted son of Rose Doherty of Quincy and the late John Doherty. Cherished father of Ashley Doherty of Boston and Justin Doherty of Boston, and their brother Jake Bongiovanni of Braintree. Loving brother of John Doherty of Quincy, Susan O’Reilly of Quincy, and Linda Vassalli and her husband Stephen of Braintree. He leaves behind his nieces and nephews Shannon, Michael, Allison, Isaac, Victoria, Haley, and Jacob. Also survived by many, many dear friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday 3-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Cremation will follow.
