Michael Lawrence Duffy

Michael L. Duffy, aka "Duffy," 72 of Millsboro, DE passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, August 7th, with the love and support of his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jeanne Duffy; sister, Mary Bragg and granddaughter, Alexis.
He is survived by his loving wife Judy Duffy (Weeks); children Earl Duffy, Joe Duffy (Marie) and Shannon Duffy (Matthew Roth); and much beloved grandchildren Brianna, Michael, David, Brooke, Stephanie and Ashley, as well as other cherished family and countless friends who loved him dearly... "Once you met him, he made you feel that you were the most important person in the room."
A Vietnam Vet, Michael devoted his entire life to serving his country both as active-duty Navy and then as a civilian in numerous positions geared to enhancing the quality of life for Navy personnel in the Naval District Washington region.
Following his retirement in 2011, he used his love of golf to support active duty military and disabled veterans and youth at Fort Belvoir Golf Course, including the Links to Freedom Program. He also served as a rules official for the PGA MidAtlantic Region. He was a member of Blackwater Fellowship Church and the American Legion.
A celebration of life will be held at High Tide Church, 28000 Nine Foot Road, Dagsboro, DE 19939, on Tuesday, August 13th at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow from 1-3pm at The Landing Bar & Grill, Plantation Lakes Golf and Country Club, 20301 Charlotte Blvd., Millsboro, DE 19966. Military internment will be held at a later date.
