Michael entered into eternal rest on-1/19/2025 after a courageous battle with colon cancer surrounded by his loving family. Michael was born 11/11/1971 to parents Margaret (Peggy) and Charles Emond. He attended Pine Bush Schools, received his BSN from Mount Saint Mary College, and MSN from Fairfield University. Over the years he worked at Lloyd's, Middletown
Medical, and in 1996 joined Danbury Hospital, (Nuvance Health System Danbury) in which he held various positions throughout the hospital, currently Patient Care Manager of the Emergency Department. His love was the Emergency Department, in which he displayed his professionalism throughout his career. He was on duty during 9/11 and treated patients as they wandered in from their walk from NYC. He treated the children from Sandy Hook and offered endless support and compassion to those parents who had lost their children in the Sandy Hook School Shooting. He worked through the COVID pandemic and guided his staff through this difficult time. He received the Nurse Leader of the Year Award May 7,2024. He worked hard and always was quick with a joke or a witty statement which led to much laughter and fun everywhere. He loved teasing his sister Michelle.
He was predeceased and welcomed into heaven by his maternal grandparents Patrick and Annette (Lambert) Farrell, paternal grandparents Albert and Helen (Porupski) Emond. His uncles James Bilicki, Joseph Buckley, Christopher Harvey, Patrick Farrell, his Godmother Mary Ellen Tracy, Goddaughter Alyssa Marino, and Cousin Thomas Minter.
Michael is survived by his mother and father, sister Michelle (Michael Loiacono), Daughters, Olivia, Isabella, and Ava. Michael's Aunts and Uncles include Godfather Richard, (Diane) Emond, Kathleen Bilicki, Margaret Farrell, Eileen Farrell, Nancy D'Alessio (Deacon Raymond), Therese Vaz (Zoran,) and Dolores Muhlbauer (James). Lisa Marsicano Levite, mother of his daughters. Michael's cousins Curt (Liz), Jill(Chris), Talisian, Richard, April, Diane(Michael), James (Stephanie), Kevin (Meredith), Brian, (Beth), Kelly (Carl), Michael, Sean (Emily), Ryan (Kaitlin), Annie, Tara(Danny), Megan (Kyle), Noelle, Gabrielle, Nicole(Brad), Jimmy John (Gina), Jillian (Kurt), Grace, Patrick, Caitilin, Erin, Patrick, Jack, Rylin, Logan, Mirabella, Madeline, Molly, Oliver, Graham, Colette, Elise, Victoria, Reagan, Trip, Ford, Kieran.
Michael is also survived by his beloved second family -the staff of Danbury Hospital family for 28 years.
The family would like to thank Dr. Dinsmore and the staff of Hospice of Orange and Sullivan County, MSKCC Bergen and Westchester and the Staff of Danbury Hospital for all they have done for Michael on this journey.

Visitations will be held Wednesday 1/22/2025 from 4-8pm at Applebee Mc Phillips Funeral Home 130 Highland Ave Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial Thursday 1/23/2025 at 11 AM. St. Paul's Church 2800 Route 17K Bullville, NY 10915 with internment following at St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Tommy was his 4-year-old cousin who passed away on Michael's 52 nd Birthday. Michael, like Tommy, loved being in the park all day long playing various sports.
The mission of the Tommy Angel Foundation, Inc. is to support various worthy local recreation, nature, green space, park and playground initiatives, in honor of the late Thomas Minter.
