Michael Dennis Flood was born to Bruce and Betty (Moore) Flood on May 11, 1956, and walked into the arms of his Heavenly Father on August 2, 2022 at age 66. Michael is proceeded in death by his father Bruce, who passed on August 2, 2019. He is survived by his wife of 30 years Robin L. (Hoag), mother Betty of Willard, four siblings: sister Debbie, twin-sister Denise (Herbert Broyles), sister Diana (Phil Samples), brother Darin, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Michael was a unique character who loved fun and mischief, he was brutally honest often saying out loud what others were thinking. Michael had a giving heart, always being the first to lend a hand or give to others. Michael deeply loved his wife, his family, his friends, his Masonic and Shrine breatharian, and his fellow countrymen.
After graduating from Hillcrest High School in 1974 Michael enlisted in the US Air Force serving six years as an Air Born Weather Specialist. Returning to Springfield he worked his way through St John's School of Nursing graduating with a BS in Nursing. Michael worked locally for several years then became a traveling nurse, adventuring to Hawaii where he met the love of his life and forever partner Robin, also an RN. Together they worked in Saudia Arabia, adventuring all over the Middle East and beyond. Returning to Missouri both Michael and Robin worked at Skaggs Hospital in Branson, then accepted careers at the Federal Medical Center for Prisoners in Springfield where both worked for 20-plus years. Michael retired in 2015 allowing himself more leisure time with Rice Camp Friends at Table Rock Lake. His retirement time was cut short by pancreatic cancer, which he faced with a brave and determined spirit. Michael will be remembered for his generosity, his honesty, his commitment to family and friends, and his adventurous nature.

My sincere condolences to Robin and Michael´s family in your loss. Michael easily lent a helping hand in training this long time surgical nurse the ways and reasoning of the psychiatric field of nursing. His mischievous grin will never be forgotten. Hugs to you, Robin!

My Sincere Condolences, and Utmost Prayers goes out to Robin Hoag and Flood and Hoag Families and extended Families for Strength, Comfort, and an Eventual Peace that Surpasses All Understanding as they endure agonizing pain and difficulty over the loss of their love one Michael. Family, I truly hope that it helps in some small way to know that We(BOP, MCFP Friends, Family, Colleagues) Share and Care in your Grief.
Michael was definitely an Ornery "character and loved to use any words or phrase to "Shock" all in Questionable Awe, leaving us/them "scratching their heads" and Saying "Did he say or do something ,"Did he really just say what he think we said? ...an even better...in front of the "Suits" which everyone know it was about the "Suits."
I have known Mrs. Betty Flood since 1976 as she was my wonderful preceptor.
The minute I saw Flood at the key line, I said is Betty Flood your Mom? I actually shocked him this and the last time. With a look of utter confusion on his face he gave me this blank stare..You Can´t Deny Her Because You Are the Spitting Image/Male Version of her. He nodded "Yes!"
Michael You Are Always in our Hearts, Thoughts and Prayers. So Fly High Michael and Rest in Perfect Peace and Paradise!
With Our Utmost and Deepest Sympathy,
Vickey Cross, RN,C
