Michael Reed Garrett 1943 – 2025
Michael Reed Garrett, 82, of Beaufort, NC, died on December 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Washington, NC, to Harry and Lula Garrett. He earned his undergraduate degree from Campbell University and his master’s from East Carolina University, majoring in Biology. He retired from Weyerhaeuser Co. in New Bern, NC.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Julia Lynette Styons Garrett; children, Pamela Towey, husband Patrick Towey of Fuquay-Varina, NC, and Jeff Garrett, wife Stephani Garrett of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Ryan Towey, wife Megan Towey, great-granddaughter Anna Towey, Shannon Towey, Liam Towey, and Lilliana Garrett.
Services to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Live Oak Grove Christian Church, 166 Russells Creek Rd, Beaufort, NC, 28516; or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN, 38105
