Michael A. Gobrecht

Michael A. "Goby" Gobrecht, age 67, of Spring Grove, passed away surrounded by his loving family on December 13, 2024 at his home. He was the loving husband of Robin E. (Tiehel) Gobrecht; together they shared 35 years of marriage.
Goby was born in Hanover, PA on September 5, 1957 and was the son of John and Jennie (Wildasin) Gobrecht. He graduated from South Western High School in Hanover and worked for P.H. Glatfelter, Co. in Spring Grove for over 43 years prior to his retirement. After retirement from the Mill, Goby worked at Spring Grove Area High School as "The Food Dude." Goby enjoyed bowling, camping, dirt truck racing, corn hole, Texas hold'em, singing karaoke, and taking his puppy, Coco, for daily walks. He was also a Penn State Nittany Lions and Los Angles Chargers fan and was a member of the Spring Grove VFW Post #5265.
In addition to his loving wife Robin, Goby is survived by his children Abigail Gobrecht and companion Tim Smith and Jeremey Gobrecht; his stepchildren Valerie Torres and Michael Torres and companion Emily Snyder; and his grandchildren Sydney, Cameron, and Aria. He is also survived by his brothers William Gobrecht and wife Sally and Robert Gobrecht and companion Patty Beard; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Goby was preceded in death by his nephew Kevin Gobrecht.
A Memorial Service in celebration of Goby's life will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 11:00AM at Sacred Heart Parish Center, 1031 Sprenkle Rd., Spring Grove, PA 17362 with Deacon Tom Ballinger officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 9:30AM – 11:00AM prior to the service at Sacred Heart Parish Center.
Funeral services are under the direction of Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of Spring Grove.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Goby's memory may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1031 Sprenkle Rd., Spring Grove, PA 17362.
