Dennis L. Wagner

Dennis L. Wagner, age 80, of Spring Grove, passed away peacefully at home on October 5, 2025. He was the loving husband of Sandra M. "Sandy" (McCleary) Wagner; together they shared 21 years of marriage.
Dennis was born in York, PA on September 19, 1945 and was the son of the late Earl and Romaine (Kaltreider) Wagner. He graduated from Spring Grove Area High School Class of 1963 and proudly served his country in the United States Marines from which he was honorably discharged. Dennis served during the Vietnam War and was stationed at 8th and I Avenue in Washington, DC. He worked for Caterpillar in York for over 31 years prior to his retirement. Dennis was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson, the Spring Grove Lions Club, Spring Grove VFW, Marine League of York, and enjoyed volunteering with many community and civic organizations. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was an avid sports fan.
In addition to his loving wife Sandy, Dennis is survived by his children Benjamin Wagner and wife Debbie and Denise Shank and husband Larry; his stepchildren Tammy Slagle and husband Mike and Scott Albright and wife Sheila; his grandchildren Eric, Vladimir, and Olga; and his sister Norma Anstine and husband Donald. He is also survived by numerous step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his sister Irene Shaffer.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Dennis' life will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 11:00AM at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of Spring Grove, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, PA 17362 with Rev. Matthew Folkemer-Leonard, Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson, officiating. He will be laid to rest following the service at Jefferson Cemetery with military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Viewings will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM and on Friday from 10:00AM – 11:00AM both at the funeral home.
