Michael Kyle Kinsella, a cherished son, brother, and partner, passed away peacefully at his home in Sonoma, California, on July 6, 2024. He was 57 years old. Born and raised in Prairieville, Louisiana, he was reared by two wonderful parents, Norman and Patsy Kinsella.
Michael possessed a unique spirit, brimming with an unquenchable thirst for life. His larger-than-life personality captivated all those fortunate enough to cross his path. Adored by his family and countless friends from around the world, he radiated kindness, generosity, and sociability, illuminating any room he entered. He leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts and lives of those privileged to know and love him.
Michael excelled in his professional career, spending the last three decades with the banking industry. He started with CitiGroup in the Czech Republic, steadily progressing into increasingly senior roles with Visa, HSBC, and most recently BMO. As a child, he attended Galvez Elementary and St. Amant High School before graduating from Louisiana State University with a BS in Marketing and Business Management. During his time at university, he also served in the National Guard.
Michael was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents, but he leaves behind a legacy cherished by his life partner, Matt Woebcke, his father Norman and his wife Kathleen Janis Kinsella, his brother Stephan Kinsella and sister-in-law Cindy DeLaney-Kinsella, and his sister Sheila Kinsella. Additionally, he is survived by numerous extended family members and a close-knit circle of friends whom he considered family. In remembrance of Michael, he would want his loved ones to celebrate his life with a bottle of wine or champagne, embracing the joy he always brought to so many.
A ceremony honoring Michael’s life will take place on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 15208 Hwy 73 Prairieville, LA 70769. Visitation will begin at 9:00am followed by Mass at 11:00am. A reception will follow at the Church hall.
The interment will follow at the Ficklin Family Cemetery in Prairieville at a later date.
A separate Celebration of Life event is also planned for October 4 in Sonoma, California.
