Michael "Mike" Thomas Long, age 59, of Shelby, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born on October 7, 1963 in Willard, Ohio to Gene and Carol (Bailey) Long. Mike was an avid Ohio State Football fan, placed in high school state tournaments in track, and was a singer for various bands and a music aficionado. He had a passion for helping people and making people smile and laugh along with giving many of them nick names.
He is survived by his children, Jeremiah (Michelle Simon) Long of Mansfield, Ohio; Colton (BreAnna Castor) Long of Mansfield; and Amber (Thomas) Thornsberry of Willard, Ohio; grandchildren, Adalynn, Xavier, Keeegan, Cadence, Sasha and Chloe; mother, Carol Long; sister, Shelly (Trent) Heyman; brothers, Mark (Denise) Long and Bryan Long; Mike's significant other, Marie Garrett Wallace; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Gene A. Long; son, Brock Long, and nephew Jarred Heyman.
Visitation will be on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at the Christian Alliance Church, 1609 Conwell Ave., Willard, Ohio 44890 from 11:00 AM until the time of his service at 1:00 PM with Pastor Bart McKelvey officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Willard, Ohio. Online condolences may be made to Mike's family by visiting www.secorfuneralhomes.com

I am so sorry to see this. I remember Mike when we would go to grandpa's house. I haven't seen him in years. My condolences to his brother and sister. My prayers are with the family.

I remember seeing Mike when we went visit my grandparents which lived across the street from the Longs. He always was quiet around me but he did play with my brothers. My prayrs goes out to the family.
