Michael Charles Mata, 30 years of age, has passed away tragically. He was taken from this world too soon on August 29, 2024. Michael was a very caring, and loving son, grandson, godfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Michael was born on June 25, 1994, at Las Cruces Memorial Medical Center to Virginia 'Gina' Mata and Mario Lopez. He survives two sisters, Vanessa and Luisa Mata; two nephews, Cruzito and Isaac Mata; also, various aunts uncles, cousins, and many friends of his community. Michael was also the Godfather to Cruzito Mata.
Michael graduated from Onate High School, in Las Cruces, NM, Class of 2012. He was also very dedicated to his job of eleven years with Church's Chicken. Michael loved outdoor activities like hiking, camping, and shooting. He was a very creative artist, who engaged in drawing and coloring most often, and occasional woodworking. Michael also loved to play with Legos and video games and was a real tv series and movie buff.
Michael is preceded in death by his mother Gina Mata, and both his grandparents on his mother's side, Luis and Esperanza Mata. Michael is also preceded by his grandmother on his father's side, Romelia Camarillo Lopez.
Anyone who knows Michael is going to miss his bright spirit, his charismatic charm and his bold personality. His kindness and compassion for others was unsurmountable by far. Michael touched the hearts of many people, and will be missed dearly, 'forever and ever'.
Cremation services for Michael are being privately held at La Paz Grahams Funeral Home, in Las Cruces, NM.
