Michael Mazzola

Michael Mazzola, a longtime resident of Saddle Brook and more recently Rockaway, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025. His family takes comfort in knowing he will be reunited with his Heavenly family, especially his beloved wife, Eleanore, and daughter, Gailmarie.
Born on April 19, 1933, to Antonio and Anna Mazzola, Michael was predeceased by both of his parents and his siblings, Agatha Anfusio and Vincenza Giordano.
Michael was a loving husband to Eleanore for over 65 years and a devoted father to his late daughter, Gailmarie Santolla, and her husband, Philip Santolla. He is also survived by his son, Anthony Mazzola, and his wife, Valerie.
A proud grandfather and great-grandfather, Michael, leaves behind Joseph Henchenski and his wife Kristen, and their children, Noelle and Gigi; Michael Mazzola and his wife Kristen, and their children, London and Melrose; Christopher Henchenski and his fiancée Danielle; and Marissa James Mazzola, along with her children Loretta, Lana, and Lacey. He was also a cherished step-grandfather to Ryan Santolla, Frank Santolla, Crystal Kimker and her son, Dylan Jr.
Michael served as a paratrooper with the 11th Airborne Division from 1955 to 1957, a division known for making the first night jump in Alaska. He was honorably discharged as a corporal from the United States army. Michael dedicated over 40 years to his career as a butcher, a profession he was passionate about and proudly shared with his family and friends. He cherished spending time with loved ones and was an active member of the Kiwanis Club. He had a natural talent for making people laugh and never turned down an opportunity to tell someone 'Cin Cin'.
He will be deeply missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. Michael's infectious humor and kind spirit touched everyone he met, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
