Michael E. McHenry
A beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center on Monday, January 27, 2025, at the age of 69.
Survived by his children Jessica (Michael) Skwarek, Angela Lobo and Martin (Deanna Francois) McHenry. Six cherished grandchildren Ryan, Madalynn and Elizabeth Skwarek, Jayaraj and Isabella Lobo and Anastacia Castro. His two sisters Laure (Philip) Cuppy and Peggy (Bob) Turnbough. His brother Patrick McHenry and brother-in-law Robert Benish.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Colleen Benish.
Born on April 8, 1955, in Davenport, Iowa, Michael grew up in Mokena and graduated from Lincolnway High School in 1974. Mike was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having been stationed in Germany. He retired from EcoLab in Channahon after 30 years. Mike was known for his love of animals and his passion for training, from homing pigeons to dogs. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time outdoors. Member of Dale A.C.
Funeral services will be held with full military honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Rd. in Elwood, Thursday, January 30th at 10:30 A.M. Memorials to the Will County Human Society will be appreciated.
