Michael Anthony Michalek, 73, of Rochester, N.Y., passed away peacefully in his sleep on Aug. 10, 2024.
He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Adeline; sister-in-law, Marie; grandson, Ryan. He is survived by his sister, Marlene (Frank); brothers, Matthew (Christina) and Mark; nieces and nephew; loving husband of 20 years to Lisa Michalek; devoted father and stepfather to Dana (Fabrice), Danielle (Albert), Arianne (John), Chris (Brad), Shawn (Megumi), Jason (Becky), Marshall, Elizabeth and Anthony; and grandfather to Camille, Noah, Genevieve, Nicholas, Carolyn, Eleanor, Abigail, Natalie, Joshua and Mackenzie.
Michael taught math and computer science and led the technology department for 35+ years at Wilson Magnet High School where he met his loving wife. He cherished time with his family listening to their stories, rejoicing in their successes, offering them his wisdom and advice and encouraging them always.
Friends may call Saturday, Aug. 17 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral chapel (2305 Monroe Ave., Rochester). In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Golisano Autism Center, golisanoautismcenter.org/donate.
