Moore – Michael Phillip Moore, age 83, of Hilliard, Florida passed peacefully on October 8, 2025, at Community Hospice Alice and T. O'Neal Douglas Center for Caring in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born to the late John Sewell Moore and Mary Pearl Lewis Moore on September 10, 1942, in Charlotte, North Carolina. In 1963, Michael married the love of his life, Victoria "Vickey" Moore. Their marriage spanned 57 years until her passing in 2020. Together, they shared a remarkable journey rooted in faith and purpose. One of their greatest joys was traveling across the country in their RV to support small churches in need. Through mission work and church service, they dedicated themselves to spreading the word of God wherever they went. Michael had a gift for making people laugh. His sense of humor was infectious and often served as a bridge to connect with others. Michael believed that getting to know people was not only rewarding but also an opportunity to share his faith. Professionally, Michael built a long and successful career at Winn-Dixie, where he served as an executive for 37 years before retiring. His dedication and leadership left a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike. Michael was a proud Florida Gator fan and rarely missed a game. He enjoyed watching all sports, not just football. Michael's love for sweets was legendary among those close to him; whether it was cake or candy, he never turned down a treat. He also loved reading and had a particular fondness for cowboy movies that took him back to simpler times. Michael's generosity extended beyond his personal relationships. He earned top recognition as a blood donor over the years, quietly giving of himself to help others in need. After Vickey's passing, Michael found comfort and companionship in Barley the Beagle, his loyal fur friend who remained by his side through his final years. Michael's legacy is one of laughter, faith, service, and love. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire acts of kindness and devotion in others. Michael is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Moore; wife, Vickey Moore; brothers, Jack Moore, Don Moore; sister, JoAnn Waddill; and brother-in-law, Red Waddill.

Michael leaves behind his children, Christopher (Melissa) Moore, Julie (Kevin) Kidd, Daniel (Carrie) Moore, Richard Moore; grandchildren, Amanda, Turner, Kristy (Anthony), Lindsey (Michael), Jamie, Marshal, Jared (Amy), Ronan, Beckett, Corrie (Nelson), Katie, Kimberly; great grandchildren, Meredith, Felicity, Dominic, Dylan, Scarlet, Ember; a brother-in-law, several sisters-in- law, other extended family members and countless number of friends.

Michael's family would like to extend a special thank you to his sister-in-law, Christine Broughton Millington, who was extremely present in the caring for Michael and Vickey in past years. They would also like to express their appreciation to Community Hospice for their extraordinary care for Michael, as well as the family during these last few months.

A Celebration of Michael's Life will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Hilliard with Pastor Ryan Mason officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the First Baptist Church of Hilliard building fund or Community Hospice of Northeast Florida in Michael's honor. The arrangements are under the care and direction of Nassau Funeral Home, 541720 US-1, Callahan, Florida 32011. 904-879-1770.
