Michael F. Mulligan

September 1st, 1962 – February 13th, 2025 (age 62)

Michael F. Mulligan, cherished father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and soon-to-be grandfather, was born on September 1, 1962, in Teaneck, NJ. Tragically, he departed from this world suddenly on February 13, 2025, leaving behind a legacy that illuminated the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

For most of his life, Michael worked in the automotive industry, where he made lifelong friends. However, his vibrant personality and extraordinary sense of humor defined his essence far more than any title or job description ever could. He had the remarkable ability to infuse joy and humor into everyday moments, often captivating family and friends with his playful spirit and lighthearted banter.

Mike graduated from Pascack Hills High School in Montvale, NJ in 1980. He carried a deep-seated love for music that accompanied him throughout his life. Michael found pleasure in curating tons of multi-genre playlists, a cherished hobby that showcased his talent for celebration through song. His friends and family fondly remember how these playlists made any gathering feel special, turning ordinary days into unforgettable experiences.

Sports played a significant role in Michael's life. He passionately followed teams like the Knicks, Yankees, Notre Dame Football, Islanders, and the Eagles. His enthusiasm for his beloved teams was infectious, and he enjoyed sharing these moments, creating memories filled with celebration, disappointment, excitement, and camaraderie.

Michael’s love for animals reflected his kind-hearted nature, which endeared him to many. Throughout his life, he was dedicated to providing many animals with a loving home. His most recent beloved pets, which he leaves behind, are his dog Vali, and two cats, Benny and Maggie.

Mike thrived on entertaining his family and friends, seamlessly blending his zest for life with the care he held for those around him. The laughter he created will echo in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Michael is survived by his son, Ryan, and his wife Olivia; his brothers, Thomas Mulligan and wife Yana, Joseph Mulligan and wife Shey; and his sisters, Nora Mulligan and husband Jim Rozen and Sharon Burrell and husband Chris. He was a cherished uncle to his nieces Jessica, Maggie, Angeleena, Noelle, and Annika and nephews Steven, DJ, Damien, Joey, Lucas, and Nicolas. Mike was also excited to become a grandfather to his first grandchild this summer.

He joins his late wife, Linda (Cardarelli), and his parents, Martin and Aileen, in eternal peace. Their spirits are surely rejoicing together as they watch over Michael’s family.

A memorial gathering to honor and celebrate Mike’s life will take place on February 19, 2025, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. The event will be held at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ, 07405. Immediately following, a repast for family and close friends will be held at River of Beer at 133 Main Street in Bloomingdale, NJ.

As we remember Michael, let us carry forward the laughter, love, and joy he generously shared. He may have left this world suddenly, but the imprint he made on our hearts will last forever.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals(ASPCA) or the American Heart Association in Mike’s name would be greatly appreciated.
