Mr. Michael L. Napolitano, age 71, of Groveland, formerly of Saugus, died on Wednesday, October 8th at Haverhill Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Sandra (Dow) Napolitano with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.
Born in Rumford, Maine and raised in Saugus, Mr. Napolitano was the son of the Marlene (Ionta) and the late Felice Napolitano of Saugus. A resident of Groveland for 42 years, Michael was a retired operating engineer for Local 4. He was an avid motorcycle rider. Michael loved talking with friends and family and enjoyed spending time at the family lake house. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren playing sports.
In addition to his wife and mother, Michael is survived by his five children, Jennifer Stanton and her husband Bill of Saugus, Justin M. Napolitano and his wife Amy of Groveland, Joel Napolitano and his partner Heather of Chelmsford, Jamie Napolitano-Paynter and her husband Shelby of Atkinson, NH and Jody Napolitano and her partner Jared of Haverhill. He was the "Pirate" Grampy of Evan, Aiden, Bray, Nico and Mackenzie. He is also survived by two sisters, Felice Gardner of Lexington and Gina Napolitano of Peabody and two brothers, Mark Napolitano of Saugus and Phil Napolitano of Peabody.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael's memory may be made to Boston Children's Hospital at bostonchildrenshospital.org.
SERVICE INFORMATION
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., SAUGUS on Sunday from 1 – 4 p.m. followed by a service in the funeral home at 4 p.m.
