Michael Joseph Pavelich, 78, a resident of Tewksbury, passed away after a long period of declining health at Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Diane Louise (Caruso) Pavelich with whom he had shared his life for the past 20 years.
Michael was born on November 9,1946 in Hibbing, Minnesota, a son of the late George Pavelich and the late Josephine (Zanich) Pavelich. He was raised and educated in Minnesota. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country in the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, he relocated to New England and eventually settled in the Melrose area where he resided with family while working in the vending field for over 35 years.
He was a longtime member of the Moose Lodge #413 in Braintree. His hobbies included archery and photography and listening to a wide variety of music. He had an unforgettable and silly sense of humor. He could make anyone laugh.
In addition to his beloved wife, Diane, he is survived by his daughter, Paula Walker and her husband, Kevin, of Bridgewater, his granddaughter, Rae, also of Bridgewater, his 3 sisters, Georgia Peterson of Florida, Patty Thrasher of Georgia and Pam Storkamp and her husband, Mark, of Minnesota and many nieces and nephews.
On Thursday, October 9 all are welcome to attend his visitation from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. and his funeral service at 1 p.m. at Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury 978-851-2061. Following his funeral service, military honors will be rendered in recognition of his service to the country.
