Michael J. Quinn

Michael J. Quinn, 86, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 21, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 62 years, Carol A. (Hehir) Quinn; their children, Peter J. Quinn, and his wife Stephanie, of Swampscott, and Patricia A. Heisler and her husband Michael, of Mashpee; a cherished grandson, Cole Patrick Quinn; a brother, John Quinn and his wife Eileen of Sutton and a sister, Kathleen Prince, and her husband William of Rochdale; also survived by several niece and nephews. Besides his parents, Michael was predeceased by two siblings, William Quinn, and Mary Horan.
Michael was born and raised in Worcester, a child of hard-working Irish immigrants, Michael, and Margaret (Tivnan) Quinn. He graduated from the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Worcester where he met his first love, Carol A. Hehir. He served honorably with the United States Navy and later with the Navy Reserves.
Michael was a man of great integrity and loyalty; it was simple thinking for him; his family always came first, then his faith, his country, and finally his obligation to his working career of 32 years for Verizon as an Equipment Installation Technician, retiring in 1997. As a man of faith, he was a member of Saint Anne's Parish in Shrewsbury where he was a Eucharistic Minister, Teacher in the CCD Program, and a member of the choir. He also found time to dabble with painting both watercolors and acrylics, and enjoyed being surrounded by beautiful music. He Loved golf and hit the links with family and friends whenever possible.
In lieu of flowers, and keeping with Michael's teaching of giving back to the community memorial donations may be made in his memory to Saint Anne's Human Services, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA 01545 or to a charity of one's choice.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday May 27, 2023 at Saint Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike where a funeral Mass for Michael will be celebrated at 10:00 AM followed by burial with military honors at Mountain View Cemetery Shrewsbury.
