Michael Robert Sax, age 58, of Salem, MA passed away much too soon on October 20, 2024. He passed peacefully surrounded by family, music, and love. Michael was the beloved husband of Carol Ann Eldridge-Sax with whom he shared 33 years of marriage.
Born on December 7, 1965, he grew up in Georgetown, Massachusetts. Michael worked at Electric Insurance for 25 years in many roles, his most recent as an Internal Auditor. He was not only a dedicated professional, but also a loving family member and friend. He was known for his passion for music and his love of cornhole. He could be found on the local cornhole circuit playing for both the Ipswich Bay and Newburyport cornhole leagues. He could also be found daily on the sidewalk of Broad Street throwing his cornhole bags with anyone who wanted to play.
Known for his great sense of humor, Michael brought joy and laughter to those around him. Whenever he entered a room, his presence was felt, as he had a unique ability to light up any space.
In addition to Carol, Michael leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and humor through his children Morgan Sax of Salem, Benjamin Sax and his wife JaLisa of Allendale, MI and Noah Sax of Salem. His mother and stepfather Nancy and Larry Kozlowski of Georgetown, Siblings Debbie Spano, Chris Kozlowski and Melissa Garland, Father-in-Law John Eldridge, Brothers-in-law Mark Eldridge & wife Colleen (Michael's bestie), Jack Eldridge & wife Connie, his sister-in-law Christine Hunt, and many nieces & nephews who loved their Uncle Michael.
He was predeceased by his father and stepmother William and Janet Sax, and Mother-in-Law Grace Eldridge.
Visitation will be held on Thursday October 24th from 4 PM to 7 PM, followed by a funeral service on Friday October 25th at 11 AM. Both services will take place at Murphy Funeral Home located at 85 Federal St in Salem, Massachusetts. The burial will follow the funeral at Greenlawn Cemetery also in Salem. Michael's family would like to thank the Neuroscience Care Unit at Lahey Hospital in Burlington. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Michael's memory to Lifebridge North Shore. Michael's kindness, laughter, and love will be missed by all who knew him. I've lost touch with you, Larry and Nancy, but always enjoy Barbara's updates, except today's. We loved Michael; he was a special young boy who kept us smiling. We'll never forget him and his antics. Wish I could have told him how special he was. Love and condolences to you all. Judy Chisholm
