Michael Leonard Scott was born in Ann Arbor, MI on September 11, 1972 and passed away at age 51 on August 23, 2024. After graduating from Community High School in Ann Arbor, he went on to earn a degree from Macalester College in St. Paul, MN. There he majored in philosophy and computer science and joined the soccer team. Mike was an avid sports fan. He played ultimate frisbee at the national level well into his adulthood. Often bicycling to and from Wells Fargo in Minneapolis, he made an 18-year career there as an analyst. Mike lived and worked in Minnesota for over 30 years.
Mike will be remembered for his wit, wisdom, kindness and generosity. He loved his wife, Emily (Schaaf) Scott, his parents and extended family, his friends, his dogs, and most importantly, his Lord. He was unfailingly good-humored and steadfast through his 4 year battle with cancer. He inspired those who knew him with his trust, selflessness and humor. Mike would say, "God knows what He's doing." Mike will be greatly missed.
Mike was preceded in death by his sister, Amy; and by his grandparents. Survivors include his wife, Emily; and his parents, Robert and Mary Ann (Kauma) Scott; as well as Mike's aunts; uncles; cousins; parents-in law; sister-in-law; brothers-in-law; niece Whitney; and nephews Max and Theo Das.
