He is survived by his daughter Kira, his sister Patricia (Mark) Beard, sister Joanne (Bruce) Mehrtens, brother Ralph Shirer III, along with granddaughter Isabella Shirer, and his nieces Meghann (Matt) Dobrovolsky and Kayleigh Mehrtens. He loved playing guitar, fishing, and drawing. Mike will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
The family would like to thank the incredible staff at Bristol Hospice, including Joy, Teresa, and Angela, for their kindness and respectful care, allowing him to be at home during his last remaining months.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 20th, 2024, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am in the chapel at Woodlawn Cemetery 1542 Webster Avenue. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Chaplain Judy Koeune-Brown. Burial in the Cemetery.

Worked with Mike @ Schreiber Foods. His humor will never be surpassed. We did a weekend road trip to Chicago in 1990. Not quite the John Baluchi/ Dan Akaroyd event but pretty near to it. Then we stopped in Milwaukee to purchase ham radio stuff. Sure wish I asked Mike to teach me guitar.

Sad to hear that Mike Shirer passed away. I sure enjoyed interacting with Mike during my tenure at Schreiber. He had an incredible sense of humor and will definitely be missed.
