Michael Elbert Spear, age 82, of Gladwin, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025. He was born on March 27, 1943, the son of Herbert and Jeanne (Kelley) Spear, in Detroit. Michael was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Following his service, he went on to work as a Hi-lo Driver for Detroit Diesel for many years until his retirement. On February 29, 1996, he married Thomaseen Kay Lewis, and together they shared many years filled with love and cherished memories.

Michael loved working with his hands, often spending his time woodworking, building furniture, and tinkering in the garage. He was fond of baking and enjoyed his boat. He was an active member of the Secord Lake Eagles Aerie 4121. Most of all, Michael cherished the time he spent with his friends and family.

He is survived by his beloved wife: Thomaseen; children: Steven (Lisa) Spear, Michael Spear, Traci (James) Zwick-Young, Thomas Zwick, and Brett (Lisa) Zwick; grandchildren: Jordan (Derek) Luttman, Steven (Toni-Lynn) Spear, Jesse Zimmerman, and Jason Young; 5 great-grandchildren; and sister: Debi Kvasnik.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandmother, Violet Kelley.

Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service is being planned for a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home. www.hallkokotovichfuneralhome.com
