Michael Trent "Mike" Tanaro

Michael "Mike" Trent Tanaro, age 75 of Bowling Green, KY, transferred to his home in glory on August 20,2025 surrounded by his loving family.

As a preacher and proclaimer of Jesus Christ for over 50 years, Mike treasured his personal relationship with Jesus and made it his life's work to guide others in building their own. Through his missionary work in Botswana, Africa, Pakistan, and other places, Mike endeavored to "preach the Word" to the world. Mike touched countless lives, leaving a legacy built by his knowledge and enthusiasm for the Word, his wisdom and his love for others.

Mike is survived by his loving family; his wife of 22 years, Sally Nicks Tanaro; and their children, Dana Tanaro Britt (Jerry), Trent Tanaro (Marlana), Julie Tanaro-Phelps (Kevin), Patrick Fischer (Sarah), Nathan Fischer (Zenaida); their grandchildren, Jay Britt, Meghan Britt-Mills (Clayton), Timothy Tanaro, Tyler Tanaro, Charlotte Spears (Sean-Eric), Emily Thompson, Isaiah Thompson, Mollie Thompson, Hunter Applegarth, Emma Fischer, Millie Fischer; five surviving sibling, Juanita Gerakas, Celeste Tanaro Johnson (Kenny), Tania Tanaro Ashby (Mark), Tami Tanaro Cohron (Terry), and Tony Tanaro (Andrea). Numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.

Those awaiting Mike in glory include his first wife of 30 years, Charlotte Cole Tanaro, parents Albert Thomas Tanaro and Juanita Colburn Tanaro, brother Albert Tanaro along with his wife Mary Ellen Tanaro, brother David Tanaro, and other loved ones.

The family is heartbroken, but they rejoice in knowing he is perfectly whole, and a joyous reunion awaits in Heaven. What a day that will be!

The family has entrusted J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel with arrangements.

Funeral services for Mike are scheduled to be conducted on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at 12:00 noon at Greenwood Park Church of Christ with burial to follow in the Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ Cemetery.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel and will continue on Wednesday at 10:00am until service time at noon at Greenwood Park Church of Christ.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donation be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky and to "AIM" Adventures in Missions.
