Michael Paul Tritz, 69, of Sioux Falls passed away at home in his sleep and continued his journey to heaven on January 13, 2024. A private family memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 20th at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Humboldt.
Mike was born on Jul 25, 1954 to Gerald "Boots" and Gladys (Swenson) Tritz in Sioux Falls. Mike attended St. Ann's grade school in Humboldt and went on to graduate from West Central in Hartford in 1972. After graduation he went to Mitchell Area Vo-Tech to take up auto mechanics.
He married Patty Schneider on April 28, 1973 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spencer.
Mike pursued many different career paths during his lifetime. He was an auto mechanic, an insurance company owner and agent, he served on various insurance boards, a Jaycee member, a furniture store owner, a car sales manager and a real estate agent in Florida.
Mike and Patty enjoyed traveling with their kids, family and friends. In Mike's younger days, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Their most memorable vacations were their yearly winter get-a-way to Negril, Jamaica where they met up with family and friends from all over the world.
Mike is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Patty of Sioux Falls, a daughter, Michelle of Sioux Falls, a son Chad and his beloved dog, Otis of Spencer, a sister, Sue Euphrat of Brattleboro, VT and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, David Tritz and Mary Hanson.
