Our sweet boy, Michael Williams, came into our lives on January 19, 1973, and passed away peacefully in the arms of our lord on the morning of July 4, 2024, after bravely fighting cancer. Michael loved people and made so many wonderful friends in his 51 years. He loved his years at Anderson High School from where he graduated. He never missed an Anderson Indian basketball game at the Wigwam and enjoyed going to all activities, especially his Junior Prom and reunion, but most of all, he loved the people. As he grew older, he loved going to AU and working with Doc Risinger, a very special man, and a very special family. We are so lucky to have them in our lives. Of course, he was a huge Colts fan, attending every Colts Camp here in Anderson. With the help of Chad and Clay, he was surprised with a video visit from his favorite player, Reggie Wayne, who brought a big smile to his sweet face and gave him autographed items we will cherish. As a young boy, Michael played baseball in Chesterfields Little League with amazing coaches. He was active in the Special Olympics along with his good friend Paul and enjoyed working at Boy Scout Summer Camp. His best friends from the neighborhood have been amazing and we will always be grateful for being there for him. We are so blessed knowing all of you and your families, and that our friendship continues to this day. Everywhere we went, even up to his last days, someone knew Mike. His nickname was
"Will." Mike loved working at Greeks Pizza with the amazing staff, especially Clay, the "boss" and a very special human being. To this day, his friends from the past and present are still his friends today. There are so many. We are so grateful for your support and love all these years and especially during these past few months. Tacos, Greek Pizza, Subway, and, of course, McDonald's, where he worked for years. And we can't forget the Pepsi. We also want to thank Hopewell for sending such wonderful people to help him when he was home. He loved you all and looked forward to the days you came. Our hearts are broken, but we are so proud of the young man Mike became. We miss him terribly. Michael loved his brother Shawn, who helped him with things he was unable to do. Shawn has a big heart, and we are grateful to him and love him unconditionally. They were brothers and friends. We could not get through these sad days without the help of our sweet family. Nancy and Fred. You have been our strength and our guidance. A special thanks to Northview Health Center and all the wonderful employees who took such great care of Michael. You all made his life better during his last few months.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Loose Funeral Home & Crematory, 200 W. 53 St. Anderson, IN. To place a memory of Mike please visit www.loosecares.com

I remember the first day I met Michael soon after he moved to the neighborhood a couple of doors down from my house. Michael saw me outside and walked over to introduce himself, and we chatted for a little while. We were about the same age, I'm guessing maybe 7 or 8 at the time. He was well dressed and had a self confidence that I admired as I was very shy. In the years to come, Michael was always a part of the neighborhood group of kids during some of my fondest childhood years before my family moved out of state in the mid 80s. His younger brother, Shawn, frequented our house to play with my younger sister, Hayley. Michael displayed a great attitude and determination in most everything we all engaged in. After watching a large group of us kids play football in my yard one day, I recall my dad stating later on that of all kids present he was most impressed with Michael's overall heart and effort, and that stuck with me. After moving, I revisited the old neighborhood as a young teenager and took a day trip to King's Island along with Michael and another friend Aaron & his older brother. We had a great time.
It was a blessing to know Michael during my childhood.
