Michaeleen Mary - "Mikie" - beloved wife and mother, transitioned to the heavens suddenly on Friday, February 14, 2025. She was born in Chicago, IL on August 13, 1960 at Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital. She is survived by her devoted husband, Glenn Arnold Bitter; her eldest son, Glenn Michael and his spouse, Vanessa Rose; her daughters, Jessica Lynn and Suzanne Nicole and her partner, Daniel Nathan.
Mikie will continue to watch over her three cherished grandchildren, Jaxson Paul (2 years) Maeve Jean (10 months), and Sienna Victoria (7 months) from above.
Mikie was raised by her mother, Mary Jean Renella and father, the late John Michael Uzitas in Lombard, IL. She was a quiet child and practicing Catholic that attended Sacred Heart elementary and junior high school before graduating from Glenbard East High School in 1978. She shared countless memories with her sister, Gina, and brother, John Paul, and she was loved by her uncles Anthony, James and Michael Renella.
She met Glenn Arnold in Palatine, IL and they married at Yorkfield Church in Elmhurst, IL before raising their three beautiful children at 701 N. Coolidge Ave. in Palatine, IL.
Mikie was kind hearted, organized, resourceful and above all else, she was fun. A caretaker to the core, she spent her adult years running a successful daycare business out of her home, raising and loving dozens of infants and toddlers.
Mikie was truly one of a kind; a vivacious and authentic spirit that was unapologetically herself no matter what the setting. Her beautiful memory will live on in the hearts of the countless people she touched with her clever wit, dynamic personality, contagious laugh and passionate smile.
Mikie lived for her family and will be tremendously missed. Her spirit will reverberate and echo in each butterfly that flutters above and around for all the years to come.
Visitation Friday, February 21, 2025, from 3-8 PM at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.
