Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home for Micki (Pike) Pearson passed away at her Hokes Bluff home on January 18, 2025 at the age of 89. Bro. Wayne Manley will officiate the service and burial will follow at New Bethel Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until time of service.
Micki was born in 1935, the second of seven children born to Gene and Estelle (Hulsey) Pike. She graduated from Hokes Bluff High School in 1953 as valedictorian. During and after high school she worked to help support her family, including jobs at Taylor Drugs and GE.
Micki married Marvin Pearson in 1961, moving to Michigan with him where they would remain until they retired back to Hokes Bluff in 2005. Micki was a homemaker for many years, but in the 1970s finally had the opportunity to fulfill her dream of going to college. She earned an Associate's degree in business and began working at Mount Clemens General Hospital. Micki loved her work and was very popular with her coworkers who enjoyed her quick wit and sense of humor. She retired from the hospital's payroll department in 2005 after 25 years of service.
Micki was an excellent cook and a talented seamstress. She loved wallpapering and decorating and worked tirelessly to maintain a beautiful home for her family. In her spare time she loved to read and work in her flower gardens.
Micki was preceded in death by her parents and husband, as well as her brother, Eugene Pike, and sisters, Helen Payne and Nelma Faye Pike.
She is survived by her daughter Tammye (Ed Raykhinshteyn) Pearson and beloved sisters, Alma (Donald) Alford, Nelda (Bob) Basenberg, and Donna (Johnny) Preston, a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Brian Basenberg, Kelly Preston, Billy Morris, Lance Payne, Johnny Preston, and Donald Sims.
Micki's family would like to thank everyone at Enhabit Home Health and Hospice, sitters Brandy Payne, Ravyn Turner, Hannah Chapman and neighbors Billy and Amber Morris, all of whom worked together to keep Micki In her home and to make her final months as comfortable as possible.
