Midge Louise Wiegand

Midge Louise Wiegand, 87, of Lafayette, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born July 28, 1938, in Lafayette, IN, to William and Girta (Frodge) Decker Stingley. Midge attended Romney High School and continued her education at Butler University. On May 1, 1970, she married James R. Wiegand
Midge worked as an Emergency Medical Technician for Home Hospital for 35 years. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Lafayette.
She enjoyed Monday shopping with her best friend, Cheryl, traveling to the beach, and spending time with family and friends. Above all, she loved life and people.
She is survived by her 8 children, Cheryl Brown of Johns Island, SC, Cindi Ruppe of Lafayette, Mike (Buffy) Ruppe of Hollywood, SC, Jackie (Scott) Bond of Lafayette, Jamie Wiegand of West Lafayette, step-daughter, Connie Wiegand of Lafayette, step-daughter, Tammie (Jeff) Firth of Sunshine Beach, FL, and step-son, Jimmy (Cindy) Wiegand of FL; and brother, Steve (Rose) Stingley of Colfax; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Along with her husband, Jim and her parents, William and Girta, she was preceded in death by 5 siblings, Kenneth Decker, Ray Decker, J.R. Stingley, Gerry Stingley, and Linda Halter; 2 grandchildren, Shannon Brown and Lindsey Mornout.
Memorial contributions in Midges' name may be given to The Cathedral of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until time of Funeral Mass at 12:00 pm (noon), Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at The Cathedral of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception, 1207 Columbia Street, Lafayette, IN 47901.
Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, 2801 East 600 South, Lafayette, IN 47904.
