Mike Andrew Sterling

Mike Andrew Sterling, 54, of Washington died unexpectedly on Monday, March 2, 2026.

He was born on November 6, 1971 in Charleroi, a son to Leona H. Hummell and the late Edward L. Sterling.

Mike graduated in 1990 from Ringgold High School. He went on to be the owner of his own company Sterling Construction, specializing in garage doors and openers.

In his free time, Mike enjoyed watching sports but his true passion in life was his kids and his grandkids.

On September 1, 1990 in Eighty-Four, he married the love of his life, Kimberly Thompson, who survives. Mike was an extremely devoted husband, father, PawPaw, and friend. He was always happiest when he was surrounded by his family.

In addition to his wife, Mike is survived by a son, Brandon (Kim) Sterling of Canonsburg; a daughter, Alyvia (Michael) Clise of Harmony; grandchildren, Shane, Caleb, and one on the way Clise, and Trent and Cole Sterling; two brothers, Dale (Rhonda) Sterling of Mason, OH and Scott (Sherry) Sterling of Fredericktown; two sisters, Nancy (John) Weller of Claysville and Amy Sterling of Eighty-Four; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Thursday, March 5 from 1 to 3 PM and 6 to 8 PM and Friday, March 6 from 11 to 1 PM, the hour of the services with Pastor Dan Owen officiating, in the Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington.
