Mildred V. DeMagistris

Mildred V. Garguilo DeMagistris passed away at the age of 97 on August 2, 2025. She was born on June 10, 1928, to Frank and Carmella Garguilo at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville, NY. Midge graduated from The School of Nursing at The Nathan Littauer Hospital as a Registered Nurse in 1949. She dedicated her entire life caring for patients, family and friends. Midge was married to Ferdinand E. DeMagistris and they shared 61 years together. Throughout her life, Midge enjoyed various activities such as cooking, writing, quilting, bowling, reading and family gatherings. She was wonderfully spirited and spread love, laughter and joy to those around her. Midge loved and cherished her family. She had daily conversations with her siblings and frequently visited with her sisters, as they sang and enjoyed one another's company. Everyone loved being in Midge's presence. She brought smiles with her wit and wonderful sense of humor. Midge is survived by her sister, Fran and three brothers, Louis, Frank (Bebe) and Bobby. She is also survived by her three sons, Fred (Judy), Frank (Brenda) and Jeffrey (Amy). Midge loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Randi, Eric, Taylor, Emma, Demi and Ari. She also enjoyed and loved her nieces and nephews. Midge is predeceased by her parents, Frank and Carmella, as well as her siblings, Connie, Al, Mary and Dorothy. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 149 South Main Street, Gloversville, NY at 10:00 am followed by burial at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Johnstown, NY. A celebration of life for Midge will take place at the Holiday Inn in Johnstown. NY, from 12-3:00 pm. The family would like to thank Debbie Lobdell Cook and those who assisted with Midge's loving care at home. They would also like to thank the staff at Mountain Valley Hospice for their exceptional kindness, comfort and care.
