Mildred “Millie” K. Osterling 97, of Bradenton, FL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.
Millie was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 19, 1928 to Charles and Rose Katz. She grew up and was educated in the Brooklyn and Jamaca Queens School system. She later went on to Ithaca College, where she majored in physical education. It was there that she met her late husband of 57 years, the musician Eric Osterling of West Hartford. They started a family, having four wonderful children and resided on Ridge Road in Cromwell.
Millie loved sports and was very active in golf and tennis throughout most of her adult life. She later moved to Plant City, FL with her husband and then to Bradenton, FL to be near family. Millie loved her exercise classes and Bingo at Elan Manatee, where she resided.
Millie is lovingly survived by her four children: Barry and (Dorine) Osterling of Cromwell CT, Roger and (Barbie) Osterling of Lakewood Ranch FL., Sherry Osterling of Wethersfield CT, Gregory and (Colleen) Osterling of Cromwell CT. Mille was a cherished grandmother of seven: Christer, Jason, Courtny, Shannon, Jeremy, Kaylan, and Jeffery. She is survived by 10 great grandchildren; Logan, Charlotte, Jack, Ben, Abby, Finley, Shay, Owen, Evan, and Charlie.
A special thank you to Elan Manatee of Bradenton, FL and the hospice nurses who supported and cared for Millie.
No local services will be held. She will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Rocky Hill, CT.
