Milford William Evans Jr. Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Friend & Minister of the Church of Christ.
Milford William Evans Jr., lovingly known as "Bill" or "Billy," passed away peacefully at home in the early hours of July 19th, 2025, with his beloved wife by his side.
Born on May 1, 1948, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Milford William Sr. and Anna Evans. Raised in Philadelphia, he joined the Job Corps as a young man and later became a devoted Christian and preacher for over 40 years, serving in Churches of Christ across Kentucky, Alabama, and Indiana. He had a tremendous passion for "God's Word" and to bring anyone with ears to hear to the love of Jesus. He baptized many and lived out his calling to serve our precious Lord and Savior.
He married Eliza Evans on May 25, 1968. Together they shared 57 years of love, raised three children in Wooton, Kentucky, and later moved to Indianapolis in 1999. He worked at Ryder-Whirlpool for 18 years in Quality Control and continued preaching at Biltmore Gardens Church of Christ until his final days.
He was a loving father to Kenneth Joseph Evans, Kevin Wayne Evans, and the late Stephen Brian Evans; a cherished grandfather to Haley, Coy, Kyra, Olivia, Nicholas, Madison, Gage, Isabella, and Brody; and a great grandfather to Charlee, Reid, and Kadance. He was a beloved brother to the late Darlene A. Baker and uncle to Melanie, Shana, and Dylen, and he shared a deep bond with his cousins, whom he grew up with and loved like siblings.
Milford never missed a chance to brag about his grandchildren, and he lit up every room with his energy, laughter, and faith. Whether cheering for the Kentucky Wildcats or Pittsburgh Steelers, singing, or dancing, he made others feel loved and uplifted.
The family asks that you honor Milford's memory by spreading kindness and living with purpose.
