Minnie Marie (Spilmon) Lee, 96, went home to the Lord on April 14, 2024. She was born on January 5, 1928, to Wilbur and Buelah (Aaron) Spilmon in Franklin County, Illinois.
She married the love of her life, Roy Lee in 1948. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful servant of the Lord. She was a long-time member of the Washington Avenue Church of Christ.
She enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting, playing guitar and singing.
Minnie graduated from McLeansboro High School. She retired as the Office Manager and HVAC Dispatcher at George Koch & Sons Inc. in 1990.
After retirement, Minnie and Roy spent 9 years traveling the U.S. in their RV as part of Sojourners, a mission work of the Church of Christ. They also spent several summers volunteering at Western Kentucky Youth Camp.
Minnie is survived by her children Stephan (Terri) Lee of Lawrenceville, GA, John Lee, and Judy Wannemuehler, of Evansville, Indiana; grandchildren Chris (Kandi) Lee, Erin (Martin) Han, Ryan (Elizabeth) Lee, Kari (Brady) Neaveill, Lauren Espinosa, Kasey Goedde, Lindsey (George) Berkesch, and Matthew (Alexa) Wannemuehler; 14 great-grandchildren and many loving extended family members.
Minnie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 74 years, Roy D. Lee; her precious daughter, Susan G. Lee; and her parents, Wilbur and Buelah Spilmon.
Visitation will be at Sunset Funeral Home on Friday, April 19, 2024, from 4-6 pm. On Saturday, April 20, 2024, visitation will begin at 10am at the Washington Avenue Church of Christ. The funeral service will begin at 11 am with a burial to directly follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Live-streaming will be offered for those attending Minnie's memorial service remotely.
