Scott Burton Allen, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, with his wife by his side at Walnut Creek Memory Care, succumbing to Parkinson's disease at the age of 80. Born on July 13, 1945, in Greenville, North Carolina, to the late Wade and Helen Allen, Scott's life was one of dedication, love, and faith.

Scott's journey through life was marked by a serendipitous blind date at the tender age of 18, where he met his soulmate, Bonnie Lou Brown. Their love blossomed into a beautiful marriage that lasted 52 years, only ending with Bonnie's passing. Together, they welcomed their son, Brian Scott, who with his wife Cassie, expanded the family's joy. Scott's role as 'Papaw' was one he cherished deeply, doting on his grandchildren, Lauren Hayford (Logan), Rachel Blanford (Chris), and Sara Jones (Cam), and his great-grandchildren, Everleigh, Harper, and Henry. In his later years, Scott found companionship with Wanda (Harris) Allen, who brought comfort and happiness to his final chapters.

A proud graduate of North High School's Class of 1963, Scott furthered his education at Ivy Tech Community College, where he studied Electrical Technology. His career spanned an impressive 52 years with Southern Indiana Gas and Electric Company, where his dedication and expertise were invaluable until his retirement.

Scott's life was rich with interests that reflected his love for the outdoors and his hands-on skills. An avid woodworker, he created pieces that were not only functional but infused with the warmth of his spirit. His love for poker, particularly Texas Hold'em, showcased his strategic mind and social nature. Scott also found solace in bike riding, hunting, and fishing, activities that connected him with nature and provided countless stories to share with his loved ones.

Above all, Scott's greatest joy was the time he spent with his grandchildren. Each moment was treasured, each memory a testament to the love he had for his family. His faith was a cornerstone of his existence, and he lived as a believer in the Lord, instilling values of kindness and compassion in those around him.

Scott is survived by his son, Brian Scott (Cassie); his brother, Jerry Allen; his grandchildren, Lauren, Rachel, and Sara; his great-grandchildren, Everleigh, Harper, and Henry; and his companion, Wanda Allen. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bonnie Lou, and his parents, Wade and Helen Allen.

Scott Burton Allen's legacy is one of unwavering love, steadfast faith, and a life well-lived. His memory will continue to inspire and guide his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. As we bid farewell to Scott, we celebrate a life that was full of purpose, joy, and an abundance of love.
